What is to love?

Pardon if I seem perturbed by the love you show for me,
for I have not been loved before.

That is not to say, however,
that I do not think about it.

Love could be the simple circle of life action,
of finding someone to-...ah-hem, well...

Or what we call the need,
to be held in safer arms than our own.

It’s possible, even, to assume that there is no such thing as love.
Just a figment of our imagination, something we could never possess.

It could be a physical attraction only
possibly a mental meeting of likable understanding

Nothing more than a smile
or a hug, or kiss, or-....whatever.

My thought’s on the issue?
I’d like to refrain from having one.

For remember, dear friend of mine
I have never ever been loved
